The month of March is dedicated to Saint Joseph because of his unique role in salvation history and the Church’s long-standing devotion to him. At the heart of this dedication is his principal feast day, celebrated on March 19, known as the Solemnity of Saint Joseph. Since this important liturgical celebration falls in March, the Church gradually came to associate the entire month with honoring him, encouraging the faithful to reflect more deeply on his virtues and mission.

Saint Joseph holds a special as the husband of Mary and the foster father of Jesus. Though Scripture records no spoken words of his, his actions reveal a man of deep faith, obedience, humility, and courage.
